MU ASTRONOMICAL OBSERVATORY TO SIGHT RAMADAN CRESCENT

On Sunday 30 Sha’aban, 1440, a team of observers from the MU Astronomical Observatory headed to the sighting location in Hawatat Sudair to sight Ramadan crescent in compliance with the Saudi Supreme Court. The team was successfully able to sight the crescent and had to wait for the declaration by the Saudi Supreme Court that the crescent that has been seen.
Prof. Hamad Al-Omran, Advisor of MU Rector and Dean of King Salman Institute for Studies and Consulting Services, said that the Astronomical Observatory was established 8 years ago based on the directive of MU Rector, Dr. Khalid Al-Mugren, who was interested to equip it with state-of-the-art facilities and top-notch experts in the field.Prof. Al-Omarn concluded his statement by extending his thanks to MU Rector for his invariable follow-up and support.
