A seminar by the Department of Physics on the generation of ultraviolet light from helium plasma

The Department of Physics at the College of Science in Zulfi held a seminar entitled: “Improving Subsurface Images in Ground Radar Technology by Using Equal-Intensity Surface Technology and its Applications for Near-Surface Engineering Geophysics”.

The seminar was presented by Dr. Mahmoud bin Jab Allah, and addressed in the first part the technique of surfaces of equal intensity to identify cracks and caves to reduce the phenomenon of subsurface collapses that caused many engineering problems.

In the second part of the lecture the ground radar technology was used to track the change in the amount of subsurface groundwater around a number of groundwater wells, from which the hydrological properties of the reservoirs and the water withdrawal rate were deduced, which helped greatly in improving the rate of groundwater extraction and maintaining its sustainability.

At the end of the lecture, a number of the research that has been published or is expected to be published in refereed scientific journals (ISI and SCOPUS) were reviewed.
