His Excellency the Rector, Dr. Khaled Bin Saad Al Muqrin Chaired in his Office at the University the meeting of the founding committee of the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, which was approved by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, the Prime Minister and Chairman of the Board of Higher Education, to transfer of supervision from Princess Norah Bent Abdurrahman University to Majmaah University. Where the meeting started with a speech by His Excellency the Rector where he welcomed the members of the Committee and thanked them for their quick interaction. He urged them to exert the efforts, contribution, qualitative excellence and work as a team. His Excellency referred to the importance of working hard with all professionalism to produce a unique premium college with sound scientific built which have its own respect and impact. He said that excellence in all things may be impossible and useless, but also excellence in a particular specialty within one of the colleges will have more important impact. He stressed on focusing at the beginning of the college on practical skills in the first place because this is one of the most important pillars of the college success in the future, with the importance of constructive partnership between Majmaah University and other universities in teaching and activities fields and other aspects of cooperation and participation.
He also urged to make more effort and hard work to overcome the obstacles that may face us in the process of construction and development.
His Excellency advised the committee to care for the graduate through outstanding scientific achievement, to receive job opportunities that commensurate with his studies and education. Our ambitions have no specific limit, so we should always be looking for the best in the presence of scientific talent and strong young cadres within the university. He draw the attention to the importance of realistic vision in dealing with matters far from idealism.
His Excellency also expressed his readiness for the monthly meeting with the Committee, paying support to the ongoing work, whether financial or moral support. And His Excellency expressed his full confidence in the Commission stressing that the decisions taken by the Committee will be applied and will not be refused.
His Excellency stressed on the importance to adhere to the correct, accurate and serious standards in selecting the outstanding faculty teaching staff. He also explained that we should not concern ourselves much to compete with others as much as we compete with ourselves in a challenge with the self for the preparation of output able to work in terms of excellence and reflect a positive image for the university, taking care to open up to all universities, the relevant high-level and excellent whether inside or outside the Kingdom for the benefit and interest of the university and its students. His Excellency then open the way for the members of the Committee for discussion and put forward their questions and suggestions. Excellency thanked the Committee members and hoped them success in their work.
