MU RECTOR LAUNCHES DIGITAL CITIZENSHIP AND FUTURE PROGRAMMER PROJECTS

 

Presented by a number of MU officials, on top of which the rector, Dr. Khalid Al-Mugren along with the Director of Education in Majmaah, Dr. Saleh Al-Rabia’a, the Digital Citizenship and Future Programmer projects were launched in a ceremony held at the rector’s hall.
 
The ceremony began by a speech for Dr. Hisham Al-Saqeer, dean of Computer, who stated that this ceremony marks the launch of outstanding projects as part of the digital development initiative approved by the Vision Realization Office (VRO) at the Ministry of Education and which aims to achieve the Kingdom 2030 vision.
This initiative includes four main projects: Tech Camp, Digital Citizenship, Future Programmer and Tech Consultant. The Tech Camp project has successfully qualified 60 students from 25 Saudi universities to obtain a professional certificate in information security. 
 
40 male and female intermediate school have participated in the project of Future Programmer which commenced this semester. Similarly, 40 students along with 20 persons from the local community have taken part in the Digital Citizenship project which also started this semester. 
 
The subsequent segment was a presentation which aimed to explicate the underlying aim of the digital citizenship project. 
The project targets primary, intermediate, high and tertiary students. 100 students will take part in the project for the year 2017. This figure will increase in 2018 to reach 1000 in first phase and 3000 in second phase. The beneficiaries will be 25000 by 2020. 
 
Another presentation was given to audience about the project future programmer which rests on exploring talented students and hone their skills in programming. 
MU rector, Dr. Al-Mugren, concluded this ceremony by a speech where he express his pride with the recent achievement of Computer College which is the result of cumulative endeavors.
