MU RECTOR PATRONIZES THE CEREMONY OF DIGITAL DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE’S PROJECTS

Patronized by MU rector, Dr. Khalid Al-Mugren and the presence of Prof. Musallam Al-Dosari, Vice-Rector, Dr. Saleh Al-Rabia, Director of Education Department in Majmaah and Dr. Mohammed Al-Shehri, Dean of Computer Science, a ceremony was held to conclude the series of projects conducted under the initiative ‘digital development’.
The initiative which is accredited by the Saudi Achieving Vision’s Office at the Ministry of Education was concluded by holding a competition the Future Programmer. More than 40 students had received a training in programming, video game development and applications.
The project of Digital Citizenship was also ended up by awarding 20 students’ guardians who have managed to meet the minimum requirements of digital citizenship.
Prior the commencement of the ceremony, students who have participated in the competitions have shown their products in an exhibition visited by MU rector, Dr. Al-Mugren.
Dr. Hisham Al-Saqeer, Director of Digital Citizenship Initiative, said that the aim of the future programmer project is only an attempt to contribute in qualifying more students to develop their own e-apps and enrich their knowledge in programming as one of the new era essential requirements. Thanks and appreciations are all due to the Rector, Vice-rectors, director of Education Department, Dean of Computer Science and all students who have taken part in this initiative, added Dr. Al-Saqeer.
A speech on behalf of all participants was delivered by the student, Khalid Al-Rabia, who expressed his gratitude for being offered such an opportunity.
Addressing the audience, MU rector delivered a speech in which he expressed his congratulations to all students who have joined the program as well as the winners in the competition. The reason for the initiative to receive such a great deal of attention is that it is closely linked with the Kingdom’s vision 2030. Being conducted in collaboration with the Department of Education in Majmaah, the initiative has gained more primacy.
Winning students were awarded at the end of the ceremony and memorial photos were shot.
