Vice-Rector's Office for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research
Message from the Vice-Rector
The Vice Rectorate for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research was established in 1431 AH (2010 AD) to oversee the university’s scientific research and graduate programs, with the aim of achieving excellence and leadership in research and academic distinction. Its mission is to position the university among the world’s most prestigious institutions by preparing highly qualified national cadres in scientific, academic, research, and professional fields.
The Vice Rectorate is entrusted with promoting a culture of scientific research, addressing societal issues and challenges, encouraging university affiliates to produce rigorous scholarly work, and supporting international scientific publishing and translation. It also emphasizes adherence to research ethics and ensures access to up-to-date knowledge and information resources. These responsibilities are carried out through its affiliated deanships, three research centers, and the Center for Publishing and Translation.
Additionally, the Vice Rectorate oversees sustainable academic and professional development for faculty members and their equivalents and works to attract dedicated national talents who can contribute to community development. These responsibilities are fulfilled through the Scientific Council, along with the departments and units affiliated with the Vice Rectorate, such as the Scholarship and Training Department, Research Chairs Department, Conferences and Seminars Unit, and Scientific Societies Department.
The Vice Rectorate is also committed to establishing local and international agreements that support the educational process through the International Cooperation Department. It actively promotes university-community partnerships to ensure mutual enrichment.
Moreover, the Vice Rectorate places great importance on identifying and nurturing talented students, transforming innovative ideas into economically valuable products in collaboration with businesses and entrepreneurs. This is achieved through the Innovation and Outstanding Student Ideas Center and the Intellectual Property Rights Protection and Technology Licensing Unit.
