Faculty of Engineering has established a lecture entitled "Preparation of Self-Study for the Academic Accreditation ABET" attended by faculty members at the college. The lecture was delivered by Prof. Adil Saeed Al Mughrebi, University of Louisville , state of Kentucky , on Thursday, 02/02/1435 H.
Prof. Adil Al Mughrebi talked about the self-study and its importance as one of the basic steps for the academic accreditation and also gave a detailed explanation of the quality standards in the light of the academic accreditation ABET. Among the most important of these standards the harmonization of the educational environment in the academic department of the teaching process through the availability of faculty members with efficiency and with the appropriate scientific disciplines . He also pointed to the importance of the availability of lecture halls that are equipped with technology to serve the teaching process, in addition to the provision of the appropriate laboratories in terms of space and provide adequate scientific equipment to conduct all experiments that are included in the study plan of the curriculum, and achieve all safety specifications . As well as the availability of other requirements of the academic facilities such as library, administrative services, and the appropriate services that can achieve the requirements of the academic accreditation ABET.
The lecture focused on the need of faculty members to pay attention to the content of the curriculum and to achieve the goals of the academic program . As well as the documentation of all procedures associated with the student from the moment of acceptance in the academic program passing through the files of the curriculum to the stage of graduation and getting the degree . In addition to the importance of assessing the educational outcomes for students through all the stages of the schedules , as well as the assessment of the scientific and practical levels for the college graduates.
