‘TOWARDS A GREEN UNIVERSITY’ INITIATIVE LAUNCHED BY MU RECTOR

In the presence of vice-rectors, directors, faculty members and students, MU Rector, Dr. Khalid Al-Muqren, launched an initiative held by Deanship of Student Affairs in the main campus entitled “Towards a Green University”.
A launching ceremony was held on this occasion that began by a recitation of the holy Quran followed by a speech delivered by the vice-dean, Dr. Faris Al-Faris on behalf of the Dean, Dr. Al-Ofaisan.
Dr. Al-Faris said the patronage of MU Rector for this initiative, which aims to preserve the environment by planting over 5000 trees annually in all the university facilities, is a strong motivation for its success.
The initiative was held over a time plan in cooperation with the Directorate General of Operation and Maintenance and some students, added Dr. Al-Faris who pointed out that several lectures will be delivered to increase students’ awareness about the importance of planting and preserving the environment.
Dr. Al-Faris extended his thanks to the Directorate General of Public Relations and Media for organizing the launching ceremony of this initiative.
MU Rector planted some trees as an act to mark the inauguration of this initiative.
