20250804812At the request of MU Rector, Dr. Khalid Al-Muqren and under the follow-up of the Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Al-Rumaih, the Deanship of Student Affairs, represented by the Guidance and Counseling Center, launched two initiatives helping students to adapt themselves during the coronavirus outbreak.
First initiative: Consult your Psychosocial counselor
Students are now able to seek a psychosocial consultation by calling a phone number or Whats-app five days a week (Sunday to Thursday -11am to 3pm -)
An alternative way for consultation was proposed to students, who wish to maintain privacy, by filling a form.
Second Initiative: undirected guidance
The basic idea of this initiative is to deliver awareness virtual lectures through the Blackboard System. The lectures are of different topics and focus primarily on the best ways of dealing with the current situation and suggestions for study and research and their impacts on students. The lectures are :
First lecture: Self-organization strategy in crisis management
Second lecture: Psychology of natural disasters and how to deal with them
Third lecture: The best 20 principles of learning
Fourth lecture: Importance of reading and research for the major
To avoid their conflict with classes, the lectures are delivered on separate days of the current week and the week after, from 9 to 10 pm.
The Dean of Student Affairs Deanship, Dr. Khalid Al-Ofaisan extended his thanks to MU Rector, Dr. Al-Muqren and the Vice-Rector, Dr. Al-Rumaih for their support of students’ activities and help to overcome the current situation.
