20250804812As part of its initiatives in all fields, the University has submitted two research projects to continue its support for projects that contribute to addressing the Coronavirus pandemic and achieve its mission in research participation and community contribution.
The first project, tilted “Double Ventilator”, was presented at The COVID-19 Virtual Accelerator Program of King Abdul-Aziz City for Science and Technology by the research team headed by Dr. Mazen Al Qahtani and with the participation of Dr. Maad al-Zahrani, Dr. Bader Al-Rashidi and Dr. Mohammed Abu Amer.
The second research project, which includes Dr. Wael Al-Teriki from the Department of Medical Laboratories at the College of Applied Medical Sciences, involved a research group from several research institutions and universities. Dr. Al-Teriki is also a member of a local research team that includes other Saudi universities and aims to develop a tool for early diagnosis of the novel COVID-19.
On this occasion, Dean of the College of Applied Medical Sciences, Dr. Mazen Al Qahtani thanked the University Rector and the vice-rectors for their continued support in motivating colleges and faculty members to participate in such accelerators to develop their ideas and innovations.
Apart from these projects, three more projects have already been worked on at the request of MU Rector who also ordered to form research teams to manufacture five medical products that contribute to the prevention and treatment of patients with COVID-19.
For his part, Dr. Wael Al-Teriki thanked the unlimited support of the University Rector, looking forward to a fruitful cooperation between Majmaa University, King Fahd Medical City and King Saud University.
