Under the patronage of His Excellency the Rector, Dr. Khalid S. Al-Mugren and the presence of His Excellency the director of King Khalid Hospital, Mr. Mohammad S. Al-Masnad and a number of vice-rectors and deans, the national campaign for blood donation was launched titled “ Your blood donation will save others’ life”.
The dean of college of medicine, Dr. Khalid Al-Abdelwahhab addressed the audience where he made a reference to the services provided to the community which are crucial for the medical service. He stated that more than 24,000 patients have benefited from the medical services. With regard to the cooperation with King Khalid Hospital, Dr. Abdelwahhab noted that a number of six campaigns were launch for blood donation, however, this time is different as it was launch outside the university and prior Ramadan in which there is a lack of blood banks.
Addressing the audience, the Rector, Dr. Al-Mugren gave a speech where he valued the efforts exerted by the medical services and expressed his appreciations for this work.
A memorial shield was presented by the hospital to His Excellency the Rector on this occasion.
