BEING THE SECOND AMONG SAUDI UNIVERSITIES, DEANSHIP OF COMMUNITY SERVICE ACCREDITS THE DIPLOMA OF SIGN LANGUAGE

In pursuit of its efforts to provide premium educational programs targeting the community members and to achieve the university third strategic plan- 2025, the Deanship of Community Service and Continuous Education had its Diploma of Sign Language accredited by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development.

The diploma is part of the Deanship’s plan launch many accredited programs that meet the market demands based on a study conducted by the Deanship.

The Dean of Community Service, Dr. Omar Al-Sharyofi, pointed out that the accreditation of this diploma came at the request of the rector, Dr. Al-Muqren and the vice-rector, Prof. Al-Dosari, who invariably support the Deanship’s programs and initiatives to achieve the university goals of serving the community.

The diploma, added Al-Sharyofi, is expected to start at the beginning of the first semester of the academic year 1442/1443 AH.

Dr. Abdelkareem Al-Harbi, the vice-dean for educational affairs, said that the Deanship is currently planning to implement a developmental plan that aims to determine the needs of the community for programs and ensure they are accredited by Ministry of Human Resources.  

Three diplomas were accredited during the last academic year, adding three more to make the total diplomas accredited by the Deanship 39.  

Dr. Al-Harbi added that the accreditation of sign language diploma manifests the university’s belief and efforts to pay special care to disabled students.
