COMMISSION OF SCHOLARSHIP AND TRAINING AT THE UNIVERSITY CONTINUES ITS MEETINGS AND ISSUES A NUMBER OF DECISIONS

Commission of Scholarship and Training held its fourteenth and fifteenth meeting for the academic year 1435/1436 H, dated 25/02/1436 H, and the sixteenth meeting on 02/03/1436 H, headed by Prof.  Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Shayae,  Vice Rector of the University for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, as well as members of the Committee. Prof. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Shayae stated that a number of twenty- three topics on the agenda of the Commission regarding scholarship, extension and promotion  of a number of postgraduate university students have been discussed. Therefore, the  Committee has recommended a number of recommendations, including the approval on granting the teaching assistant,  Sultan bin Abdulrahman Al Bhairi, a scholarship to study the American Board of Pediatrics at the University of Illinois in the USA, and the approval on granting the teaching assistant, Abdulmalek bin Hmoud Al Twaijri, a scholarship to study English Language at the University of California in the USA, to be enrolled later in a master degree Department of Environmental Engineering, and the approval on granting the lecturer,  Jawaher bint Hmoud Al Zahrani, a scholarship to study Doctor of Philosophy in  Mathematics at the University of Missouri in the USA,  and the approval on granting the lecturer, Hana bint Mohammad Al Sultan, Education Planning and Economics specialty, a scholarship to study English Language at the Institute of INTO Manchester in the UK. As well as the approval on granting the lecturer, Abdullah bin Dhidhan Al Harbi, a scholarship to study a doctor of philosophy in Commercial Law at the University of Putra in Malaysia, and the approval on granting the lecturer, Abdullah bin Saleh Al Saleh, to study a doctor of philosophy in Information Technology at the University of Firenze  in Italy, and the approval on granting the lecturer, Nouf bint Rashed Al Mutairi, to study a doctor of philosophy in Special Education at the University of Michigan in the USA, and the approval on granting the lecturer, Nourah bint Abdulaziz Al Swaih, to study a doctor of philosophy in Biology at the University of Leicester in the UK. Also, the Committee has recommended the approval on granting scholarship for a number of teaching assistants at the Faculty of Medicine to Study fellowship and get the Saudi Specialty Certificate from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties in different disciplines. In addition to the approval on the request of transferring the scholarship of the lecturer, Ali bin Fahd Al Dakhil, to study a doctor of philosophy in Mental Disability at the University of Sheffield in the UK, also the approval to upgrade the scholarship for the student Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Faisal, from Master Degree in Arabic Language to a Doctor of Philosophy at the University of Indiana in the United States of America, as well as the approval to upgrade the scholarship for the student Raed bin Eid Al Zahrani to study a Doctor of Philosophy  in Human Anatomy at the University of Dundee in the UK, and the approval on the extension of the scholarship for the student Fares bin Suliman Al Debaihi to complete his study at the Institute of  Kaplan in the United States of America  in preparation for the study of fellowship in  Anesthesiology.  Hence, His Excellency the Vice Rector of the University  for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research has pointed out the importance of continuing education to keep pace with excellence approach that the university is adopting to double the efforts and speed up the completion of the procedures of male and female university students who are on scholarship to achieve the desired benefit.
