Students of Medical Equipment Technology Department in College of Applied Medical Sciences visits the Saudi Food and Drug Authority

Within the framework of the program set by Students of Medical Equipment Technology Department in Applied Medical Sciences College at Majmaah University, and as an attempt to enable students of the department to have a better understanding of the various corporations and authorities specialized in manufacturing, monitoring, maintaining and using medical equipment, the department of Medical Equipment Technology set an integrated program includes field visits to various institutions during the current university year. The students accompanied by three supervisors visited Saudi Food and Drug Authority. His Excellency, Dean of Applied Medical Sciences College, Dr. Nasser bin Ali al-Jara Allah stated that the main purpose of the visit was to accustom students to working environment in the authority and to educate students with importing and marketing equipment as well as the procedures of selecting medical equipment in accordance with the international standards. His Excellency also mentioned that the visit will provide students with the experience needed to distinguish fake equipment that is not compatible with the basic specification in addition to the scientific and practical benefit gained by students through mingling with engineers in the company, and to raise students’ awareness and confidence with regard to importing medical equipment in order to achieve excellent projects after graduation. The Dean of College expressed his gratitude with this visit as well as the benefit gained by students in their scientific and practical life, which will be added up to their experience. He also extended his thanks and appreciations to officials in Saudi Food and Drug Authority for their cooperation, wonderful hospitality and making their visit a successful one. Thanks and appreciations were also extended to all supervisors who accompanied students and coordinate this visit, they are Assistant Professor, Khamis bin Omer, Mr. Musa’ad Anand Sa’am Boas, a lecture in the department and Mr. AbdulAziz Mohammad al-Rayyes, Lab Technician.
