THE ASTRONOMICAL OBSERVATORY WELCOMES THE MUSLIM TURKISH BACKPACKER, JURKAN GENK

The Astronomical Observatory received the Muslim Turkish Backpacker, , on Monday morning, 6/10/1436 AH corresponding to 03/30/2015 AD at 9.30am.

 Jurkan Genk was received a long with accompanying delegation from the Turkish Embassy and the chairman and members of the Najid club in Hotat Sudair, who were met and greeted by the College Dean, Dr. Tariq Bin Sulaiman Albahlal, the Director of the Astronomical Observatory Abdullah Abahsain, the Public Relations Officer Ahmed Al-Gheiama, and the Astronomical Observatory experts.

The tour began inside the observatory with a visit to the astronomical exhibit, where Dr. Sabri Ali and Mr. Abdullah Khudhairi talked about telescopes, the solar system, the phases of the moon, nebulae and galaxies. Also, a visit was made to the planetarium, where Prof. Magdy Youssef explained how stars move and the distribution of stellar groups. After that, a practical illustration was made on observing the planets and stellar groups in the planetarium scoop inside the observatory.

At the end of the visit, the guests expressed their admiration of the Astronomical Observatory and thanked everyone for the warm reception and hospitality.
