COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY STUDENTS TAKE A TRAINING COURSE IN CHINA ON THE MOST MODERN TECHNOLOGY AND DEVELOPMENTS IN THE FIELD OF NETWORKING AND TELECOMMUNICATION

Under the instructions of Majmaah University Rector Dr. Khalid Al-Muqrin and due to the professional partnerships of the College of Computer Science and Information at the university, the college highly-competent students started the 3-week intensive training program on August 3rd at Huawei Company in Tenjin, China. The program includes specialized lectures from the developers of the SDN Software Defined Networks so as to train students on the cutting-edge technology in the field of Networking and Telecommunications. Field experiments on the design and development of network systems in addition to the management of data centers were also part of the training program. Dr. Hisham Al-Sagheer, dean of the Computer Science College, said that the program would develop the College students’ skills and further prepare them for the labor market through field training at the headquarter of one of the world's major companies in the field of networking. “These programs contribute to the achievement of the College strategic vision of integrating theory into practice.” the dean said. He also pointed out that the university is seeking to realize the vision of the Ministry of Education of increasing the competitiveness of graduates in order to help them engage in the labor market after graduation. “The summer training programs and professional partnerships with major companies in various fields is one of the latest tools that effectively contribute to providing graduate students with the ability, knowledge and skills needed for the labor market. That reflects Majmaah University success and achievement”, the dean concluded.
