SCIENCE COLLEGE IN ZULFI CONDUCTS RADIOLOGICAL SCAN OF DATE PITS

A new achievement of an outstanding student-project was represented at Science College in Zulfi. The student Omar bin Ahmed Alsamhan conducted a study on the radiological concentration on date pits planted in Zulfi, Majma'ah, Buraidah and Alshimasiyah; in cooperation and under supervision of the Physics Professor: Muhammad Abu Shaieb. The results of the project, which was conducted in the physics labs at Science College using high quality research devices, have found no sign of harmful radioactivity in the date pits of the four Provinces. It is planned to publish the study in international scientific journals upon finishing up. Alsamhan had already won a first prize by the Physics Department Committees in the presence of the Dean of Science College,Dr. Muhammed bin Salih Alaboudi, Dean of Scientific Research and Head of Physics Department, Dr. Thamir Alharbi, and the Vice-Dean for Student Affairs, Dr. Ziad Alhusain.
