Under the patronage of His Highness the Minister of Higher Education and the directives of His Highness the Rector Dr. Khalid Al-Mogren, Al-Majmaah University concluded the ‘1st gathering distinguished experiences for Saudi charitable organizations’ held in the new campus in Majmaah province. 30 experiences from 26 organizations applied for the gathering and only 9 experiences nominated to participate in the gathering. Participants discussed those experiences in view of the following topics: first topic: finance and investment (endowment department), second topic: strategic planning and management, third topic: e-transaction and technology, fourth topic: quality and constant enhancement, fifth topic: marketing and media. At the end, the participants extended their thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Crown Prince for their unlimited efforts and generosity to the Saudi universities to achieve their roles in society. Thanks were also extended to the Minister of Higher Education and His Deputy as well as the Rector of Majmaah University for their concern and follow up which resulted in the success of this gathering. Participants also complimented the concern provided to charitable work in the kingdom which resulted in the establishment of varieties of charitable organizations. The initiative of Majmaah University for the idea of establishing the national center for voluntary work development in its 1st session for the academic year 1433-1434 H was highly appreciated. The participants recommended the importance of taking into consideration the cultural, technical and social changes and developments in the society, particularly at the individual and family level. They also emphasized the importance of investment and endowment areas being an essential aspect of the sustainability of the charitable work. Moreover, the participants suggested the adoption of technology, optimum use of e-transactions in all aspects of charitable work, creative programs and quality. They also stress the significance of promoting the programs of the charitable organizations’ programs and services to the various levels of the society segments as well as the establishment of a partnership with universities being the source of knowledge. Finally, they suggested the establishment of the Saudi Network for charitable organization.
