The Deanship of University Library Affairs has organized the Third Library Week for the University students and faculty members.
Entitled “My Book-My Achievement”, the Library Week event received the new students and the faculty members from 08/01/1438 to 12/01/1438 at the Central library on campus and its branches in other colleges as well.
The Deanship had earlier notified all colleges and departments of the occasion in order to provide the opportunity for participation in the activities.
The event aimed at the following:
• Introduction to the University libraries and their services.
• Showing visitors the way to access digital and written information at the Library.
• Encouraging all university students and faculty to access the Saudi Digital library and take advantage of its various services.
Several daily activities took place such as:
• Receiving students and faculty at the library.
• Tours of all the sections at the library.
• Presenting user services.
• Explaining the use of the Digital Index (KOHA) at the libraries on campus and in other branches.
• Giving gifts including guides and brochures to the visitors.
Several faculty members and students have benefitted from the event.
Dr. Abdul-Aziz Al-Omran- Dean of the Library Affairs Deanship- thanked Dr. Khalid Al-Muqrin- the University Rector- and Dr. Abdullah Al-Shayie- Vice-rector for Graduate Studies- for their support and follow up of the deanship, which have resulted in such fruitful events befitting all personnel and students on campus.
