In the context of Majmmah University's efforts in serving community, and in cooperation with the Faculty of Medicine and Medical Services, the Faculty of Medicine's students visited Mushrefah village on Monday 27/3/1438. They spent the entire day offering community service activities as part of the requirements of Public Health and Epidemiology Course. The convoy was welcomed by the Center Chief, the Health Center Director, and Elementary School Principal. The events of the visit were hold with the participation of thirty eight medical students, the Head of Community Medicine and Public Health Department Dr. Salim Ali Aqdi, the department professors, doctors and nurses from the Medical Services Management, and a representative of the Public Relationships in the college. The students raised health awareness of 160 pupils of elementary school through discussing topics such as personal hygiene, risky behavior, nutrition and obesity, and other health topics. The elementary school students' participation was effective, answering interactive questions and receiving gifts as rewards. Before ending the visit, the Medicine students did a mini survey to collect data on the environmental situation and the health problem in the village. The collected data helps putting a plan for improving the village's heath situation. The students were trained on collecting drinking water samples to be analyzed in the water laboratory in Majmaah in order to assess its quality.
