As part of the visit of MU Rector and his accompanying delegation to Qassim Province to sign a number of community partnerships, Dr. Khalid Al-Muqrin-MU Rector- gave a lecture at the seminar held by his Highness Prince of Qassim entitled "Social Responsibility for Universities: Majmaah University as a Model".
Dr. Al-Muqrin spoke about the difference between social responsibility and community service. He also talked about the concept of social responsibility of universities, citing examples from local and international universities in addition to the experience of Majmaah University, pointing out that such experience was characterized by two features, one relating to the institutionalization of institutional work in the field of social responsibility and the other related to the programs, events, and activities offered by the University in this field.
He explained that the University has been successful in both. A number of institutions have been established to regulate the work of social responsibility, such as the Community Service Deanship and the Social Responsibility Observatory, as well as the establishment of its subsidiary units such as Child Services, Local Development, Community Partnerships, Special Needs and Volunteer Services.
“In terms of the activities of the university, many statistics indicate the rise of these programs and activities over the years since the establishment of the University.” He added.
The Rector concluded that all those and other programs offered by the University to the community are the result of the unlimited support of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman Bin Abdul-Aziz and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdul-Aziz of the University.
