IN COLLABORATION WITH SAUDI AUTHORITY FOR INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY, DEANSHIP OF LIBRARY AFFAIRS IS ORGANIZING A FORUM ON INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY PROTECTION

Under the patronage of the vice-rector for graduate studies and scientific research, Dr. Ahmed al-Rumaih, a forum is organized by the Deanship of Library Affairs in collaboration with the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property, entitled “Intellectual Property Protection”.  

The virtual forum, which will be conducted on Wednesday March 24th, 2021 (12:30 pm), aims to promote the culture of intellectual property among the university staff due to its importance -which is growing worldwide- and in line with the National Transformation Program and the Kingdom vision 2030.  

The forum is considered the first of its kind at the university as legal experts in intellectual property will be hosted in the forum. Five topics will be addressed in the forum as follows:

First topic: intellectual property for human innovation

Speaker: Mr. Abdelrahman al-Farhan, SAIP

Second topic: intellectual property protection unit at MU

Speaker: Dr. Shadi al-Shuwayer, dean of Library Affairs Deanship

Third topic: Intellectual property in Shariah

Speaker: Dr. Mohammed al-Tayyar, Associate Professor in the Department of Islamic Studies, College of education, Zulfi

Fourth: intellectual property based on Saudi regulations and international agreements

Speaker: Dr. Abdelelah al-Aawbal, Assistant Professor in the Department of Law, College of Business Administration

Fifth topic: intellectual property and knowledge production

Speaker: Dr. Huda al-Barrak, Associate Professor in the Department of Law, College of Science and Humanities in Ghat

Dr. al-Rumaih, vice-rector, extended his thanks to MU rector for supporting such events that contribute to raising the university staff’s awareness with issues related to intellectual property.
