MU rector, Prof. Saleh Al-Mizil, sponsored the First Institutional Accreditation Renewal Forum and ceremony of Quality and Excellence Award for the year 1444 AH. The event was organized by the Deanship of Quality and Skills Development in the main campus and was attended by vice-rectors, deans of colleges and supporting deanships, department directors, as well as faculty members, staff, and students.
The forum began with a recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by a speech delivered by the Dean of Quality and Skills Development, Dr. Fares Al-Fares, highlighting the department's most significant achievements for the year 1444 AH. A wide rang of issues were addressed including the department's main duties and responsibilities, governance, leadership and the academic accreditation.
A team was formed and trained for review and evaluation purposes, faculty members' skills were developed, and the department's participation in the Saudi Global Ranking for Higher Education Institutions (SAQR).
He also emphasized the department's efforts in the Rector's Award for Quality and Excellence, and the various courses and workshops conducted for academic accreditation and its requirements, evaluation methods, and skills development for staff and faculty members.
Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Qafari, explained the status of institutional accreditation standards at the university, pointing out the work carried out by the institutional accreditation committees to develop an improvement plan for each standard. This was done after collecting and analyzing evidence and discussing its fulfillment. The mission, vision, and strategic planning standard were mentioned along with the education and learning standard and the student standard.
Dr. Nouf Al-Mutairi presented the remaining accreditation standards and the progress made in each one, including faculty members and staff standard, institutional resources standard, scientific research and innovation standard, and community partnership standard.
At the end of the ceremony, MU rector awarded winners in different categories. The working team that was responsible for the award was honored with certificates of appreciation.
