IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION: MU PARTICIPATES IN THE CLOSING CEREMONY OF THE "HUMAN RIGHTS EXPERT" PROGRAM

On behalf of MU Rector, Prof. Saleh Al-Mezal, the Vice-Rector for Development and Investment, Prof. Musallam Al-Dosari, participated in the closing ceremony of the first edition of the "Human Rights Expert" program. The event was held at the headquarters of the Human Rights Commission in Riyadh, with the presence of Dr. Hala Al-Tuwaijri, President of the Commission, along with senior officials, representatives of partner institutions, and program graduates.

This participation reflects the strong partnership between MU and the Human Rights Commission via CIFAL Saudi Center and in cooperation with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR). The program aims to train national professionals in the field of human rights in line with the highest international standards.

The program is significant as a major step in building national capabilities and highlights the Kingdom's commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals—particularly those related to quality education, justice, and institutional empowerment. It aligns with the Commission’s mandate and international standards emphasizing the vital role of education and training in advancing human rights.

"Human Rights Expert" offered a comprehensive learning experience combining theoretical knowledge with hands-on training. It featured contributions from both national and international experts. The program represents a transformative educational model that promotes a deep understanding of human rights while respecting cultural identity and balancing local and global priorities.

Launched in November 2024 as an initiative by the Human Rights Commission in partnership with the CIFAL Saudi Center at MU, the program seeks to qualify national consultants in this vital field.

At the end of the event, the Human Rights Commission received an honorary shield of MU Rector in recognition of the outstanding role of MU in the success of the program.
