CIFAL SAUDI ARABIA AT MU PREPARES TO LAUNCH SUSTAINABILITY LEADERSHIP PROGRAM WITH SAUDI AND INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITIES

 Majmaah University (MU), through CIFAL Saudi Arabia, is gearing up to launch the Leaders in Higher Education Alliance and Programme - For Accelerating Sustainability Transformations (LEAP-FAST). The program will run from 22 to 27 November 2025, bringing together Saudi universities and leading global institutions from 26 countries. It will be led by experts from UNITAR, UNESCO, and UNESCO Chairs in Education for Sustainable Development.

LEAP-FAST is recognized worldwide for its impact in helping universities navigate the challenges of sustainability transformation. The program's outcomes have been highlighted at the UN High-Level Political Forum in New York, presented at UN General Assembly meetings, and featured at the World Summit for Social Development in Doha.

The program aims to empower academic leaders to redesign higher-education systems so they align more closely with the UN 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. Participants will follow an intensive training pathway that blends online learning, in-person sessions, hands-on workshops, and collaborative work among university leaders.

Over six days, the program will offer advanced training in institutional governance, curriculum redesign, academic program development, and building sustainability strategies within universities.

Saudi universities working to adopt advanced sustainability models will join international peers from across continents, which will create an opportunity for ideas to be exchanged as well as open new partnership opportunities that strengthen the Kingdom’s leadership in educational transformation regionally and globally.

During the program, participants will develop prototype models for integrated university sustainability strategies. These will be presented at the closing graduation ceremony in the presence of UN experts, positioning LEAP-FAST as a platform that delivers real outcomes.

This global event is an evidence that Majmaah University is a leader in supporting the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 and enhancing the Kingdom’s presence in international networks focused on sustainable education, innovation, and institutional transformation.
