20250804812MU Rector, Prof. Saleh Al-Mezal, launched the University-Funded Research Programs for 2026 during a ceremony organized by the Deanship of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research. The event was attended by the vice rectors, deans, directors of research centers, and vice deans for graduate studies and research.
The launch underscores the University’s strong commitment to advancing its research ecosystem, contributing to sustainable development, and supporting the growth of a knowledge-based economy. These initiatives are expected to enhance the quality of scientific research and strengthen the societal impact of its outcomes.
In his opening remarks, Prof. Al-Mezal pointed out that the university is committed to support scientific research and its related activities, noting that this commitment has played a key role in improving the university’s rankings as publications in indexed journals have increased significantly. He expressed his appreciation to the Deanship of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, faculty researchers, and research centers for their dedicated efforts.
The Vice Rector for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Prof. Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Shehri, highlighted the vital role of scientific research in advancing knowledge and emphasized the importance of aligning research activities with the University’s strategic directions and national priorities.
The Dean of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Ali Al-Sa'awi, highlighted the objectives of the research funding programs and the targets they seek to achieve to further develop high-impact research programs and initiatives. He also reviewed the outcomes of the Scientific Publishing Enhancement Initiative, which encourages each faculty member to publish at least two research papers annually in journals indexed in Web of Science or Scopus.
