CIFAL CENTER IN SAUDI ARABIA REPRESENTS MU AT THE WORLD URBAN

Upon invitation from the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, the CIFAL Center, Saudi Arabia, at MU participated in the Saudi National Pavilion Program at the 13th World Urban Forum (WUF13), organized by UN-Habitat in Baku, Azerbaijan, under the theme “Global Housing: Safe and Resilient Cities and Communities.”

A Saudi high-level national delegation led by Mr. Majed bin Abdullah Al-Hugail, participated in the forum along with senior officials, representatives from governmental and semi-governmental entities, as well as private and non-profit sector organizations. This participation reflects the integration of national efforts in urban development, housing, and quality of life initiatives.

Dr. Ayman Al-Barakati, Director of the Saudi Arabia CIFAL Center, represented in the event and delivered a knowledge-sharing presentation within the Kingdom’s pavilion titled “Bridging the Urban Policy Implementation Gap: A Model for Municipal Capacity Building from Saudi Arabia.” The presentation highlighted an applied model linking urban policies with implementation mechanisms and municipal capacity-building practices.

The Center also participated in an international session organized by the Global CIFAL Network affiliated with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), titled “Urban Capacity Lab: The Global CIFAL Network for Advancing Cities Through Capacity Development,”.
