The Committee of furnishing and equipping urgent buildings held its first meeting under the chairmanship of HE the Vice Rector Dr. Musalam bin Mohammed Al-Dosari and in the presence of committee members on Wednesday, 12/06/1436 AH. The vice rector welcomed the committee members and reviewed the approximate date for completion of the urgent buildings in the College of Sciences and Humanities in Hotat Sudair, and the College of Sciences and Humanities in Ghat. The Committee reviewed also its duties and competences upon the decision of the Rector which are: -Determining the priorities of the urgent needs of the buildings (furniture and office equipment and electronic devices for offices and classrooms), and comparing those needs with available material at the university stores, and what can be purchased in accordance with the procedures adopted by the system, - studying the perfect exploitation of squares in facilities, and equipping them with necessary requirements and services, and -follow-up the processes of furnishing and preparation taking into account the high quality of work at university in accordance with the requirements of safety. The meeting also discussed the competence of the committee to permit the transfer of office furniture and technical devices which are in good condition to the urgent buildings in Hotat Sudair and Ghat, and assigning a team from the committee to visit colleges and preview the furniture, technical equipment, laboratories and prepare reports on the matter. The Vice Rector emphasized the need of fulfilling the requirements and providing the equipment for the colleges mentioned above to guarantee the speed of work and the quality of what is being provided according to the terms and specifications adopted by accrediting and competent authorities at the university. It is worth noting that this committee was formed by the University Rector decision to execute the tasks of follow up and coordination between the competent authorities and the parties responsible for furnishing and equipping the urgent buildings to ensure the setting of procedures and the speed of delivery and standardization of efforts.
