VICE-RECTOR PATRONIZES ENVIRONMENTAL WEEK ACTIVITIES LAUNCH

Under the patronage of Prof. Musallam Al-Dosari, Vice-Rector, the environmental week activities were launched for the year 1440 with the theme ‘We protect the environment for better quality of life’ in the presence of the Director General of Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, Majmaah branch, Mr. Ibrahim Al-Manna’a as well as other officials. The launching began by planting a seedling in the wild part near the main campus. The Vice-Rector was introduced to the initiative of the Department of Facilities and Housing which is basically a recycling of old water heaters for tree distillation. Prof. Al-Dosari was also briefed about the program launched by the Department of Occupational Health and Environment in collaboration with other departments to clean the main campus and put up posters in all facilities to increase the awareness of environmental protection. The Vice-Rector highlighted the usefulness of seeking the assistance of experts of environment to conduct workshop and lectures for university and school students to be trained on how to plant seedling during environmental week. He add “ such events manifest the responsibility MU is taking towards environment protection and pollution as well as its concerned to form a partnership with the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture to make the environment clean.”
