Overview

The Department of Islamic Studies at Majmaah University was established on Ramadan 3, 1430 AH (August 24, 2009) by Royal Decree No. (7305 /M B). Initially part of the College of Education, it later became part of the College of Sharia and Law in Al-Ghat upon its establishment in 1445 AH.

Academic Tracks in Islamic Studies:

The department offers several core tracks in Islamic Studies, including:

  1. Qur’an and its Sciences.
  2. ⁠Hadith and its Sciences.
  3. ⁠Aqeedah (Islamic Creed).
  4. Da’wah and Islamic Culture.

Faculty Expertise:

The department is enriched with expert faculty members specializing in various Islamic disciplines related to the aforementioned tracks.

Master’s Programs Available:

The department provides three Master’s programs for student enrollment:

  1. ⁠Master’s in Qur’an and its Sciences.
  2. ⁠Master’s in Hadith and its Sciences.
  3. Master’s in Aqeedah (Islamic Creed).

This department is considered a fundamental pillar in serving the community and preserving religious and national identity.

  • ⁠General Presidency for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice: (Center Director - Religious Guide).
  • Public Prosecution: (Investigator - Assistant Investigator).
  • ⁠Government and Private Sectors: (Banking Consultant - Legal Advisor).
  • ⁠Administrative Roles: (Public and Private Sector Administration).
  • Military and Security Sectors: (Religious Guide).

Requirements

The College of Sharia and Law Council determines the number of students admitted to each department in accordance with the Kingdom’s comprehensive development plan.

To be eligible for admission, students must:

  1. ⁠Achieve a minimum score of 65% in their high school studies.
  2. ⁠Meet the general university admission criteria outlined in the Majmaah University Undergraduate Study and Examination Regulations, including:
  3. Holding a high school diploma or an equivalent qualification from inside or outside the Kingdom.
  4. Having obtained their high school diploma within the past five years (exceptions may be granted by the University Council if justified reasons exist).
  5. Demonstrating good conduct and behavior.
  6. Being medically fit, and successfully passing any required exam or personal interview set by the College Council.
  7. Obtaining approval from their employer if they are currently employed in government or private sectors.
  8. Fulfilling any additional requirements set by the University Council, which will be announced at the time of application.
