The General Administration of Projects, Operation, and Maintenance prepares the Astronomical Observatory site for sighting Shawwal Crescent

The General Administration of Projects, Operation, and Maintenance has prepared the Astronomical Observatory site to ensure the location is fully ready and creates a suitable environment for moon sighting committees.

These preparations included multiple tasks, such as leveling and backfilling potholes on the road leading to the sighting site to ensure easy access.

Electrical services were upgraded by providing a reliable power source for the devices and equipment, along with a backup generator to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply. Lighting systems were also inspected and maintained.

The preparations further included landscaping work, such as installing flower arrangements, trimming and pruning trees, and installing both permanent and mobile directional signs to guide participating teams and visitors from Hawtat Sudair to the sighting site.

In collaboration with the Deanship of Information Technology, an internet broadcasting device was installed at the site. Comprehensive maintenance was also carried out at the site including plumbing inspections and repairs and cleaning of the entire location.
