Under the patronage of the Vice-Rector for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Prof. Mohammed Al-Shehri, the College of Nursing organized the Health Innovation Hackathon 2025 under the title: "The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Patient Healthcare Challenges".
This event aims to promote innovation and creativity in the health field, with a focus on the role of artificial intelligence in improving the quality of health services provided to patients in line with the university's vision to support scientific research and promote innovation.
The hackathon was attended by students from the colleges of nursing, medicine, applied medical sciences, engineering, and computer sciences. The participants were distributed into 10 teams; each team has 6 students from different specializations.
The event was moderated by Dr. Osama Badandi, a certified trainer in creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship, who inspired students and helped them develop their ideas and transform them into practical solutions.
The students' projects focused on innovating AI-based technologies and solutions to support patients and improve the healthcare experience, taking into account the ethical and practical challenges associated with the use of AI.
The teams showed a high level of creativity in presenting new ideas to solve healthcare problems. The hackathon provided a great opportunity for learning and development, while enhancing students' communication skills.
