The College of Nursing organizes a workshop on intravenous catheter insertion techniques

The College of Nursing held a hands-on workshop titled “Intravenous Catheter Insertion Techniques,” presented by Dr. Mohammed Al-Dhahi and Dr. Rana Al-Asiri.

The workshop targeted nursing students and addressed key theoretical and practical topics, including the principles and concepts of intravenous catheters, anatomy and physiology of veins and arteries, managing potential complications, sterilization techniques, and effective patient communication. It also featured a live demonstration on catheter insertion and handling various clinical cases.

The session aimed to enhance students’ clinical competence in venous access procedures—both peripheral and central—while utilizing modern vein visualization technologies, as part of the college’s applied training and clinical readiness programs.
