In compliance with the directive of MU Rector, Dr. Khalid Al-Mugren, to keep the university updated with the state-of-the-art educational process, the Deanship of e-Learning and Distance Education (DEDE) has proposed, in collaboration with the Vice-Rector’s Office for Educational Affairs, a number of integrative learning courses(ILC).
Prof. Musallam Al-Dosari, Vice-Rector and Supervisor of (DEDE) said that the successful experience of the university online courses had a considerable impact on improving the quality of teaching these courses. Introducing the integrative learning courses came as a result of coordination with the university colleges and the Vice-Rector’s Office for Educational Affairs to enable students to study these online courses remotely at any time. This will also facilitate the communication process between students and lecturers.
Dr. Khalid Al-Mudaibri, Dean of DEDE, mentioned that two integrative learning courses have already been introduced this semester. The two courses, which were designed by the Center of e-Learning Courses following the quality standards accredited worldwide, are: Teaching strategies and reading building vocabulary. A series of workshops were conducted with teaching staff to identify the best practices of teaching these integrative courses. The Deanship has offered ILC instructions to both student and lecturers and highlighted each roles.
