DR. Al-RUMAIH SUPERVISOR OF THE INTELLECTUAL AWARENESS UNIT
Based on a letter from the Minister of Education, MU Rector, Dr. Khalid Al-Muqrin, has issued a decision appointing Dr. Ahmed Al-Rumaih as the Supervisor of the Intellectual Awareness Unit at the Rector’s Office for two years. The appointment is another accomplishment added to Dr. Al-Rumaih’s experience of hard work and dedication.
Dr. Al-Rumaih has a series of academic achievements and administrative successes. He chaired a number of foundation committees for colleges at the University and other universities. He is also a member of a number of boards and committees concerned with organization, academia and coordination. Furthermore, Dr. Al-Rumaih is a founding partner of Majmaah University, as he contributed to the stages of its development.
Dr. Al-Rumaih is one of the distinguished academic talents at the University. His academic career is characterized by scientific production and publications, with many academic participations in a number of conferences, seminars and panel discussions at various sectors, ministries and universities inside and outside the Kingdom.
The University was keen to establish an intellectual awareness unit due to its willingness to provide an intellectual and psychological fortification for the students of the University against extreme ideologies through spreading awareness of the moderate Islamic culture based on the Quran and the Sunnah. This knowledge is needed on campus to ensure the emergence of an academic atmosphere that is safe and appropriate for students, leading to academic achievement and social stability in general.
The aims of the Intellectual Awareness Unit are:
1. To enhance the religious and national belonging in the University staff and students.
2. To support the national efforts in preserving national security and protecting youth from fanaticism.
3. To establish the correct Islamic ideology.
4. To address the negative intellectual phenomena related to contemporary issues and developments.
5. To contribute to the intellectual immunity of young people.
6. To spread awareness among young people about contemporary intellectual issues.
7. To explain the intellectual and moral faults in the thought of extreme groups, which are away from the correct Islamic approach,
8. To participate in the preparation of scientific research and field studies regarding intellectual awareness.
