Majmaah University presented the successful experience of its Weather Extreme and Risk Mitigation Unit during a seminar on the National Disaster Risk Assessment (NDRA) Guidelines, organized by CIFAL Saudi Arabia in collaboration with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) and the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR).

During the session, CIFAL Saudi Arabia highlighted the university’s pioneering model in managing and reducing weather-related risks. The unit’s experience has been recognized as a successful national practice, benefiting several institutions, including the Ministry of Education and a number of universities.

This seminar preceded by the visit of Dr. Ayman Al-Barakati, Director of CIFAL Saudi Arabia, to gain deeper insight into the unit’s operations. The visit included an overview of its fieldwork model, which actively involves students in monitoring and analyzing weather patterns to enhance preparedness and response to climate changes.

This collaboration underscores Majmaah University’s commitment to sharing its expertise in risk assessment, prevention, and resilience-building in alignment with national and global sustainability goals.
