20250804812The 28th meeting of the Permanent Committee for Academic Plans and Curricula was chaired by Prof. Mohammed Al-Aboudi, Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs, to discuss several academic topics on the agenda to improve the quality of teaching and learning.
The meeting addressed different topics, including the general framework for university-wide courses, updates to specialized courses, and the study plan for exit points in the Applied College’s diploma programs.
They discussed ways to develop the university’s general requirements in line with national standards, promoting greater integration between knowledge domains, teaching strategies, and assessment tools. They also examined proposals for updating diploma program curricula to better meet labor market needs and improve the educational and practical competencies of students.
Prof. Al-Aboudi highlighted the importance of continuous review and updating of academic plans and courses to ensure alignment with the National Qualifications Framework (NQF). He also commended the committee members for their dedication to advancing academic development and promoting educational excellence across the university.
The meeting concluded with a series of recommendations focused on revising the general framework of university requirements and course descriptions, exploring the inclusion of new modern courses, and approving updated exit point models for the Applied College’s diploma programs in alignment with national standards.
