Message from the Head of Department

In line with the Kingdom's Vision 2030 and in attempt to achieve the requirements of the labor market, MU rector issued a decision to establish the Department of Sharia under the College of Sharia and Law. The department aims to contribute to meeting the demand of local market with qualified graduates that serve the Sharia, justice and legal sectors as well as establishing pure Islamic Sharia that is based on the approach of moderation.

The department seeks to achieve the university's ambitions to have one of the top programs in Sharia that is capable of meeting the demand of the labor market through multiple acts including a study plan designed based on the requirements academic accreditation approved by the Education and Training Evaluation Commission and a tailored program that is compatible with the needs of the labor market. 

The program consists of core courses such as the basic sciences in Islamic Sharia, which are (the Qur'an and its sciences, Hadith and its sciences and Aqeedah) and the specialized courses such as jurisprudence, the science of the principles of jurisprudence and the science of law. The program also offers important courses such as Arabic language and life skills including building the study plan on education-based outputs.

The Department of Sharia has a group of faculty members who are excellent in their field and posses a great deal of experience and competence.
