Majmaah University hosted yesterday the 3rd meeting of Saudi vice-rectors responsible for operation, maintenance and safety. His Highness the Deputy of Minister of Higher Education Prof. Ahmed Al-Saif who patronized the meeting, was received by His Highness the Rector Dr. Khalid Al-Mogren.
In the meeting, a discussion took place about a number of topics, including the possibility of creating a database for the safety staff in every university. The members also discussed the possibility of establishing a committee that is specialized in safety and disaster management to be the reference for all safety work at the university in coordination with colleges or departments that have an experience in this field. More, there is a potential of establishing an emergency center in universities where there is no one and draw on the necessary experience from King Abdul Aziz University in this field. Among the issues discussed in the meeting was the importance of learning from the experience of King Fahad University in health public awareness. The idea of having training courses to prepare female leadership in the field of safety was also discussed. The members agreed that annual reports on safety should be prepared by the end of every year.
After the meeting, His Highness Prof. Al-Saif paid a visit to the Deanship of Information Technology and Admission and Registration Deanship followed by a visit to the main campus where he had a look at the labs of Medical College and Applied Medical Science as well as the E-learning and Distance Education.
The visit was concluded by a press conference for Prof. Alsaif, Deputy of Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Khalid Al-Mogren, Rector of Majmaah University and Prof. Mohammad Al-Rukban, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs.
