APPLIED MEDICAL SCIENCE COLLEGE HOLDS A WORKSHOP ABOUT NANO TECHNOLOGY AND ITS APPLICATIONS

Nanotechnology has an invaluable significance in the future of industry and therefore it has being receiving a special attention and support from the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz in all various fields to build up a knowledgeable society. Thus, the College of Applied Medical Science at Majmaah University will hold a workshop titled “ Applications of Nanotechnology in Medical Fields”, on Wednesday, 10/1/1435 – 13/1/2013. The purpose of the workshop is to introduce the concept of Nano and its applications in the medical, engineering and physical fields. Nano also tends to cure chronic diseases such stroke.

Dr. Nasser A. Al-Jarallah, dean of applied medical science college and the director of the organizing committee stated that conducting this workshop corresponds with Majmaah University vision of creating an academic environment of high quality. He added that nanotechnology is closely related to physics, mechanical engineering and chemical engineering.

Dr. Raed Al-Baradi, deputy dean of postgraduate studies and scientific research and the director of scientific committee at the workshop, stated that the college has witnessed a number of patent inventions and research which serve the treatment and diagnosing aspect using nanotechnology. He noted that due to the importance of nanotechnology in the medical field, the approval of His Excellency the Rector was taken to conduct this workshop at Majmaah University under the supervision of the Applied Medical Science College.
