His Excellency Rector of the University inaugurates the workshop ‘Means of Communication across University Faculties’

The Rector of the University inaugurates the workshop ‘Means of Communication across University Faculties’

Under the patronage of his excellency, Rector of the University Dr. Khalid Bin Sa’ad Almuqrin, the faculty of Education has organized a workshop titled ‘Means of Communication across Faculties in Universities – Developmental Vision’, which was attended by twenty deans from eight Saudi Universities; King Sa’aud University, Imam Mohammad Bin Sa’aud University, Alqaseem University, Aldammam University, Salman Bin Abdulaziz University, Shaqra’a University, Um Alqur’a University and al-Majmaa University. The workshop was commenced by a speech delivered by Rector of the University in which he welcomed the presence of the faculties’ deans and reviewed some the available facilities of higher education which played a significant role in the development of Saudi Universities.  His Excellency has also set the directions that the university will follow which are development, quality and academic accreditation. Furthermore, he elaborated the urban plans and the new establishments in Almajma’a University as well as his vision with regard to the outcomes of the workshop to enhance the system of work in the faculties which have divisions for male and female students. He has also invited the guests to pay a visit to the new established buildings in the university and to look into all aspects of development in the university.

After that, a speech was delivered by the dean of education faculty, Dr. Mohammad Bin Abdullah al-Shaya’a where he illustrates the goals of conducting this workshop, most importantly is to give the deans of faculties a better chance to meet and discuss about the realistic means of communication between male and female students’ divisions as well as exchanging experiences among deans of faculties. The workshop has also intended to encourage communication among faculties at the level of the kingdom and to demonstrate successful experience examples by faculties in achieving an effective way of communication in order to come up with a practical guide to activate communication in order to achieve an effective education. He has also stated the core of the workshop among which is the administrative structure wherefrom (forming faculties’ meetings, divisions meetings), relationships among colleagues in faculties wherefrom (the relationship between deans, heads of departments) and means of increasing communication wherefrom (the ways used in indirect method of teaching and the means to increase communication between meeting boards and committees). The festival has witnessed the award of the participated deans in the workshop with monuments from faculty of education in al-Majma’ah handed by his Excellency Rector of the university.  The workshop has also included three sessions where the cores of the workshop have been discussed, followed by a general meeting to demonstrate the recommendations that included the importance of appointing vice dean in female students divisions for the administrative affairs that follows the dean directly, appointing assistance for the deputy of educational affairs to work in the division of females under the supervision of the deputy-dean for educational affairs, the organizational structure for the division shall include appointing a deputy for the department of female division to assist the head of the department as well as the male division provided assigning bonus for them. The appointing shall be through a nomination from the department followed by the approval of the dean of department. Moreover, lecturers should be assigned to follow up teaching methods via network to ensure the quality of teaching as well as training them to teach, or assigning staffs for this purpose in case there is no sufficient numbers of lectures. Also, there shall be training programs for the head of departments and deputies in how to manage time and meeting effectively as well as dealing with technology. The workshop was ended by a visit for the new established buildings and the exhibition organized by the deanship of student affair in a preparation for the third student conference.
