His Excellency the University Rector Launches the portal of faculty members and E-services, and receives the Quarterly Report about the Deanship of Information Technology

His Excellency the Rector, Dr. Khalid Bin Sa’ad al-Muqrin launched the E-services portal and the faculty members portal on Monday 5/4/1433 which was accomplished by the Deanship of Information Technology. Throughout the launch, the supervisor of the Deanship of Information Technology, Dr. Omer al-Mutaihi extended his thanks to His Excellency the Rector for his continuous support to the Deanship of Information Technology which resulted in a number of E-services initiated by the new E-portal of the university, followed by the faculty members portal as well as other E-services which will be launched by today. Later on, a detailed presentation about the most important E-services was offered by the head of software units, Mr. Daif Allah al-Azmi. These services are as following:

(Faculty members Portal http://faculty.mu.edu.sa ) which is the offical portal through which you can access to the pages of faculty members either through advanced search, alphabetical search or down lists. These sites are evaluated and sorted out according to the number of visits and the content of the page.

(My website Service) is a service that enables the faculty member to create their own websites on the portal in a flexible way. It also enables the faculty member to fully control his own web-pages and organize them into  flexible lists which make it easy for the visitor to access to all pages shortly. The web-pages also provide the service of communicating with a faculty member through the communication form which is linked to the email of the faculty member.   

(My Office Service) is a service that enables the university staffs to update and edit their personal information at any time. As a safety procedure, the system sends an email to the person in charge, in the user administration to confirm the editing.

(SMS Service) is a kind of service that enables the faculty member and the staff to create their own contacts as well as sorting them out into groups, and to send free SMS to all the contacts and groups. At the same time, the staff can easily send email to all these groups.

(Technical Support Service ) is a service through which all university staffs can ask for instant technical support from the deanship of information technology by sending an electronic form that is processed and consequently transferred  according to the type of defect. The sender of the request can follow up in electronic way his request without referring to the deanship of information technology.

(Approval Service) is a system concerning those who are authorized from the university departments, faculties and deanships to check on the data entered.

After that, His Excellency the supervisor of the Deanship of Information Technology, Dr. Omer al-Mutaihi presented the quarterly report about the achievements of the Deanship of Information Technology.

His Highness the Rector Dr. Khalid Bin Sa’ad al-Muqrin praised the efforts made by the Deanship of Information Technology in assisting the university staffs as well as the achievements accomplished in the previous period. He also praised the deanship for working with the spirit of one team.
