His Highness the Rector, Dr. Khalid bin Sa’ad al-Mogren launched the most technological Lab managed by a robot for College of Engineering, Department of Mechanical Engineering with the presence of Dean of Engineering College, His Excellency Dr. Fahad bin Abdullah al-Turki, Deans of Colleges and Deanships, Directorates of Administrations and faculty Engineering members. The robot, which is regarded as the most technological in this field, can dig in metal and perform the engineering turning by resembling a model designed by a special computer program. The robot then draws the engineering model designed precisely. After that, His Highness listened to a detailed description from the students of Mechanical Engineering Department about the new robot capability like the way it was installed, operated as well as the engineering tasks that can perform. On the other hand, His Highness launched (Flexible Manufacturing Unit) in the department of Mechanical Engineering in college. The unit includes several developed engineering devices that are used in measuring environmental elements variables such as wind speed measurement device, temperature measurement device, relative humidity measurement device and soil elements measurement device. These devices, run by some engineering students, will be exploited in education process and local community. His Highness was extremely delighted for high level of preparations and availability of this kind of Labs and developed units in Engineering College. His Highness considered that as an infrastructure to produce high qualified generation of engineers who are provided with advanced educational environment resembled that one in renowned universities. Such kind of success is due largely to Allah, at first place, then to the government of the Custodian of Two Holly Mosques.
