In attempt to build up a mutual cooperation and promote for quality awareness, The Deanship of Quality and Skills Development headed by the Dean,Dr. Khalid Bin Mohammad Al-Jarallah and His Deputy Mr. Yasser Bin Bader Al-Huzaimi as well as Mr. Abdelrahman Bin Mohammad Al-Rabaian and the Deanship advisors. Upon their arrival, they were welcomed by the Dean Dr. Mohammad Al-Obodi and his deputy Dr. Sulaiman Al-Salamah. The meeting was initiated by a speech for the Dean where he welcomed Dr. Khalid Al-Jarallah and his team and their concerns to have a look at the achievements of the quality center in the college of science as well as the obstacles faced by the College in obtaining the academic accreditation. Addressing the audience, the Dean of Quality and Skills Development expressed his gratitude and then stated that the main goal of this visit is to identify its problems and to offer solutions and suggestions that will enhance the performance. Dr.Al-Jarallah emphasized the importance of the initial result of self-assessment for the college being the first step in achieving the academic accreditation. He added that among the most important criteria for academic accreditation is teaching and learning which focus on learning process. He also noted that there are several workshops to promote the awareness of quality requirement such as “the most readiness program for academic accreditation which focuses on a number of criteria which accord with the requirement of the National Commission for Academic Accreditation. The best programs will be awarded. The Dean mentioned that communication with the Deanship is opened through the technical support unit. After that, Mr. Al-Ribayan distinguished the difference between the institutional accreditation and program accreditation. A number of requirements need to be done prior obtaining the program accreditation in case the university has not yet obtained the institutional accreditation. Mr. Al-Huzaimi emphasized the importance of attending local courses conducted by the Deanship as a prerequisite for attending overseas courses which include quality crucial programs. Finally, His Excellency the Dean of Quality and his team took a tour in the college and met the heads of departments in which a discussion was occurred on the developmental plans in the areas of quality.
