HIS HIGHNESS THE RECTOR CHAIRS THE PERIODICAL CONSULTATIVE MEETING OF THE UNIVERSITY

 

His Highness the Rector Dr. Khalid Al-Mogren chaired in his office the periodical consultative meeting with the vice-presidents of the University, deans of colleges and supported deanships and head of departments. The meeting was initiated by welcoming all members and emphasizing the importance of such meetings in enhancing the work performance as well as conducting such meetings in every sector with its staff. The recommendations of the 2nd meeting was reviewed including allowing the system of projects management for sectors which have current projects to be included in the system. Mr. Mohammad Al-Sahli, project manager office reviewed the procedures as well as the training plans started for these projects. His Highness the Rector emphasized the importance of cooperation which will result in paving the way for more development. Dr. Musallam Al-Dosari was appointed to follow up the former recommendation and to submit a report about the extent to which the staffs are interacted with the system of project management of His Highness the Rector. Dr. Faisal Al-Homoud reviewed the developmental college initiative which included different aspects of the college work such as teaching Qur’an, scholarship sponsored bag, graduate club, academic advisor, training students and strategic plan initiative as well as adding statistics about the percentage of graduates and those who joined market. After that, Dr. Musallam Al-Dosari commented on the minutes of the university committees and councils. Then, Dr. Nasser Al-Jarallah, Dean of Applied Medical Science College reviewed the organizational manual issued by the University which strives to describe and document the administrative tasks for every unit and department. Dr. Mohammad Al-Salamah, Dean of Engineering College, presented a report about the role of the college in distributing books to students as well as the obstacles faced and their solutions. The chairman emphasized on the importance of having a methodology in dealing with academic books and the university is will to provide them provided they achieve their chief purpose. All members suggested making use of the Saudi Digital Library and contracting with specialized publishing companies. At the end of the meeting, His Highness the Rector referred to the activities of the University in which several sectors participated such as Medical College Deans Meeting, Scientific Specialization International Conference and the 10th Seminar for E-Learning in Saudi Universities. He also reviewed the periodical visit made by His Highness to the colleges and provinces in which he praised what he heard from the students and faculty members during his visit to Zulfi.
