END OF SUMMER TRAINING PROGRAM IN HUAWEI HEADQUARTERS IN CHINA

In a continuation of the professional partnerships pursued by the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology with the competent international companies in the field of communication and information technology, and in preparation of new students for the demands of the labor market in the kingdom, a training program was held for the second year in a row for a number of distinguished students from the Faculty of Computer Science and Information technology accompanied by the eminent lecturer, Mr. Fahd Al-Odiani from September 2nd to the 17th

 

       The training program in the latest fields of information and networking technologies taking place during the summer at the headquarters of Huawei in the Chinese city of Shenzhen comes as part of the Industrial and academic partnership between the Faculty of Computer Science and Huawei Company.

 

The program included an intensive hands-on training on the most modern techniques in the field of networking and information such as smart cities, the techniques related to them, cloud data centers and big data technology.

 

Moreover, the students made tours of the company’s exhibitions throughout the period of the training program with a number of specialist engineers from the company so as to learn about the latest findings of science in various technical areas such as IP-Based TV, Virtualization Games, Smart CCTV, Smart Watch and IP Telephony.

 

The program was concluded by a test on the themes and topics of the training program by Huawei, an exam that predicated students obtaining a certificate of completion issued by Huawei.

 

In this regard, the faculty dean, Dr. Hisham  Al-Sagheer thanked Majmaah University Rector, Dr. Khalid Al-Muqrin on behalf of all students, faculty and staff members for his ongoing support for this quality initiative, which contributes to the preparation of students for the requirements of the labor market, and bridging the gap between theory and practical aspects in the field of Computer Science and Information Technology.

 

The College seeks to continue this agreement for the coming years. Dr. Hisham thanked the Company for its implementation of this intensive program and the selection of the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology in Majmaah University to be part of that partnership, which includes several academic institutions around the world
