Majmaah University Rector, Dr. Khalid Al-Muqrin received in his office the students who participated in the Summer Training Program offered by Huawei Company in Shenzhen, China.
The program was part of an academic and industrial partnership between the College of Computer Science and Information Technology at Majmaah University and Huawei where the company provides an intensive training program concerning the latest development in information technology and networks in summer.
Dr. Muqrin took a look at the details of the programs which have been held for 2 consecutive years, training students on developing their skills in Cloud Computing, Data Centers, and Cybersecurity.
The Rector discussed with the students the advantages of the program and the aspects that could be improved over the next three years.
Mr. Samer Abdul-Aziz- Director of the Partnership at the Company- discussed the implementation of the program and expressed the company’s interest in the development of University students in the field of information technology.
Dr. Muqrin appreciated the efforts of the College in activating such industrial and academic partnerships that contribute to the improvement of students’ abilities and prepare them for the labor market after graduation.
M.U. Rector has also urged students to take advantage of such opportunities and participate in them as much as they could, as the competiveness in the labor market nowadays is more challenging, especially in the field of technology.
Dr. Hisham Al-Sagheer- Dean of the College of Computer Science and Information technology- thanked the rector for his ongoing support of such pioneering initiatives that take part in the development of student skills and prepare them for the labor market, helping close the gap between the theory and practicum in the field of technology.
