FIRST MEETING OF E- GOVERNMENT PROGRAM

Chaired by Majmaah University Rector, Dr. Khalid Al-Muqrin, the first meeting of E-communication Committee of 1437/1438 academic year took place in the Rector’s Office with its members.

Dr. Muqrin welcomed the members of the committee at the start of the meeting, and then the Secretary of the Committee, Mr. Yusuf Arokban read a brief report about the achievements of the Committee in its previous structure (Seventh Round) of the academic Year (1436/1437).

Mr. Rokban stated that the committee had met 4 times, discussed 8 topics and issued 16 decisions and recommendations, 81% of which had been implemented and the remaining are yet to be executed.

Furthermore, he said that the most important achievements of the Committee in its seventh round were:

1- Monitoring the implementation of the project (Administrative Communications- Electronic Archiving-Workflow Procedures).

2- Following up the implementation of the sixth transformation measuring requirements of the E-government transactions program (Yesser).

3- Linking the University with the E-government Program provided by Yesser.

4- Determining the e-services that the University needs from the E-government Program.

5- Approving and publishing the 106 University e-services.

 

6- Publishing 12 e-services of the University and entering them into the National Saudi portal (Saudi).

7- Obtaining an 82% indicator in the e-transactions program, which transfers it from the “Availability” stage to the “Excellent” stage in the 7th measurement.

 

8- Participating in the Awards of Achievement and Digital Excellence under the supervision of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.

9- Establishing 2 subcommittees under the E-transactions Committee; the first one is concerned with the e-government transactions program and the second one handles technical projects at the University.

10- Forming one subcommittee to prepare a transfer plan to the e-transactions at the University in coordination with the relevant departments at the University or outside.

11- Following up the updating of the University Portal.

12- Following up the (E-portal Content Translation Management).

13- Supervising the communication among the departments and internet connection at the University.

14- Following up the installment of an alternative internet cable at the University supporting the current cable.

15- Activating the visa and electronic signature in the system of communication, linking it with the Digital Ratification Center in coordination with the Deanship of Information Technology at the university.

16- Raising the browsing speed of the University Portal to be the fastest compared to other government sites in the Kingdom.

17- Counting the most important achievements of the quality of the university at the academic, scientific, administrative and technical levels, and then presenting them to the members of the Electronic Transactions Committee for assessment and publishing.

18- Reviewing academic and administrative departments in the administrative and financial system for correction in preparation for implementation of the project workflow procedures.

 

Afterwards, the Committee’s agenda was reviewed, and several recommendations were taken regarding its agenda.

Dr. Mosallam Al-Dousari- Vice-rector of the University stated, “This committee is concerned with several issues such as

A-    The development of a plan regarding computer usage at the University departments.

B-     the establishment of a comprehensive vision of the University need for programs throughout all its departments: administrative, financial, academic, research, library, student affairs, and

C-      Learning about past experiences of others and taking advantage of and following up the developments in the areas of computer use.

D-    Proposing the development of the University facilities and current technical abilities.
