In line with the new vision of the state to employ state-of-the-art approaches in education, further record results were achieved by the University via implementing the curriculum of STEM as the first university in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
This approach -firstly implemented by US in 2001- is based on the idea of educating students in four specific disciplines — science, technology, engineering and mathematics — in an interdisciplinary and applied approach.
The implementation of this modern approach which integrates the four disciplines into a cohesive learning paradigm based on real-world, had enable students to solve problems and complete several tasks using educational robotics.
A forum was held in the presence of MU Rector, Dr. Al-Mugren to display the students’ projects using educational robotics.
Dr. Omar Al-Saidi vice-dean for e-learning deanship said 15 groups have participated in the project with a total number of 300 students and 19 faculty members who engaged in more than 180 hours of practice.
“ The project was a result of several phases, prominent of which are setting a detailed plan followed by a training workshop for faculty members linkage of the University curriculum to STEM Korean book; determine number of students; set labs; conduct training workshops for students and finally holding the forum” added Dr. Al-Saidi
