The University Portal has made several accomplishments throughout the past 5 years including its achievement of an assessment percentage of 90.07% in the comprehensive methodology used by the e-government program (Yasser) for analysis and assessment of public portals in 2016.
Furthermore, the Portal has been registered the fastest site in the kingdom with an average speed of 2.02 seconds. This was recorded by a test comparing speed of the Portal with other portals in Saudi Arabia.
The E-portal at the Deanship of Information Technology had taken careful and practical steps to reach such accomplishment: a search was done to identify the best and most modern techniques used in the field, then a comparison was made to select the best of which to apply. This was followed by planning and implementation. The speed was measured by an authentic international website ((pingdom) http://tools.pingdom.com) specialized in measuring such speed.
Having measured by 5 other websites from different geographical locations i.e. Texas (U.S), California (U.S), New York (U.S), Stockholm (Sweden) and Melbourne (Australia), the average speed of each portal was then calculated.
Then the speed of several portals of Saudi universities as well as technical public institutions and companies was also measured and calculated. It turned out after measuring the speed and calculating the average that Majmaah University Portal was the fastest with an average speed of 2.02 seconds.
The University Website (www.mu.edu.sa) has obtained the 16th place out of 93 around the Arab World according to the Web Matrix regular evaluation report of fastest websites.
Majmaah University has also been placed at 93 out of 983 universities in the Arab Universities in the first half of 2014.
Despite its recent establishment as early as 2012, the E-portal has had a great deal of accomplishments at the Arab and international levels.
